Miami is a gorgeous city that never stops welcoming people. Take in the sites but don’t forget to see the town in the process. We want you to enjoy your time in our beautiful city. Here are five things we love to do with our friends and family.
Fall in Love with Wynwood Arts District
If the gorgeous murals aren’t enough to make you fall in love with Wynwood, the artisan coffees might be the trick. We love spending a Saturday people-watching at the Wynwood Walls outdoor exhibit. There are also numerous cafes and small restaurants around Wynwood that can serve up a great espresso or a tasty sandwich.
Sashay Down Ocean Drive
Don’t forget to take in this iconic strip of Miami. As the main drag in front of South Beach, Ocean Drive is the area that so many visitors picture when they think of Miami. There are gorgeous 1920s-style structures up and down Ocean Drive. Snap a picture for Instagram! Don’t forget to wear your best bathing suit if you want to hit South Beach, literally steps from Ocean Drive.
Explore Little Havana
With a booming, vibrant Cuban community it’s a no-brainer that Little Havana is a top stop in Miami. Take in lunch, breakfast, or dinner but don’t forget the Cuban coffee while you’re here. There are so many great restaurants to choose from. Head to Calle Ocho, or 8th Street, during the day. You’ll find walk-up cafe windows for coffee. If the weather is just right, you’ll see old men playing dominos in the park. Take it all in and don’t forget to visit a bar for live music in the evenings.
Party It Up in the Epic Nightlife Scene
Little Havana has a great nightlife scene. It’s home to Ball & Chain and Bar Nancy, just to name a few epic late-night hangouts. Wilton Manors is known as one of the best and most accepting LGBTQ neighborhoods in the country. So, the gay nightlife scene in Wilton Manors is one of the best. South Beach is also a beacon of nightlife with all kinds of clubs to fit any kind of music taste.
Go to the Beach(es)
If you’ve got a vibe you’re looking for, there’s a Miami beach to match! There’s South Beach, which is rife with tourists all year round. But there’s also fun music, quaint snack shops, and other amenities that come with a popular beach. For those looking to get out into nature, there are beaches like Matheson Hammock Park in Coral Gables and Bill Bags Cape Florida State Park. If you want to bring the kids, there are beaches for that. For those who want to get away from what seems like every other person on the planet, there are remote-feeling beaches that are perfect for that. Miami has no shortage of beaches.
